Why?

I am not doing so well this evening, my baby (dog) Jackson, is having to stay the night in the emergency vet hospital. Today was actually going pretty good, we were having a sorta lounge day....watching movies, Sarah had a friend over. And then Sarah walks into the living room and says " Jack is getting in the bag of chocolate". Now at first I admit, I didn't want to believe her, Jack just doesn't get into stuff like that. He usually just sleeps, eats, and plays the occasional game of fetch. But, to my horror-she was right. Jackson had ate 20 pre-wrapped hershey kisses baby shower favors. Which equals out to 80 hershey kisses, 20 10-inch netting wrap, and 20 pieces of string. So, we called the vet and they they told us to call someone else, who told us to bring him in. So off to Milford we went, and honestly, I had it in my headm they would examine him, give him some drugs and send us home to keep and eye on him. But, that's not exactly how it panned out. They got him to vomit up 16 of the 20, and now he is hooked up to a IV and they called to talk to my mom about his behavior, and on my end of the conversation, it didn't sound to be the greatest of reports. So here I am, ready to ball my eyes out, but I am trying my best to keep it together-for Sarah and for my mom. But all that keeps running through my head is that i don't know what I would do if something bad happened to him. From the day we brought him home (almost 3 years ago) he has been my constant side-kick. Whenever I get the least bit upset, he is the first to be there to lay his head in my lap and be by my side. He knows more of my thoughts than anyone else....I keep trying to stay positive, but thats not really my strong suit....but I guess what is helping my not completly lose it is the verse I posted before. God truly is here for me. To some it might seem like a small thing for the God of the universe to show concern and care for a simple house pet. But to me it shows of His amazing love and care for me! The bible says that God even watches the sparrow...one of the smallest of all creatures. So, how much more does He care about me! A human being He created in HIS OWN IMAGE! So, for tonight, that is my comfort verse. That I know that God is watching out for the 1.5 oz sparrow, He has is eye on my 85lb Golden Retriever. And He has His eye on me.

"And what is the price of 5 sparrows-2 copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them."
~Luke 12:6~
