My Life According To Third Day.

You've seen them...I've seen them...I've even done one...the whole quiz "My Life According To______." You fill in the blank with a band or a author or a tv show...and then all of your answers are a song title, a quote...something that came from your choice.
Well..if you know me at all....you know what my choice was...and I have to admit it was fun digging through the song titles of my favorite band and it got me thinking...
I realized just how much that those songs meant to me...not just because they were sung by Mac Powell..or were written by Mark Lee...but because in the years I have listened to them...God has done AMAZING things in my life through their music. People make fun of me, and that's ok. But I am not embarrassed to admit that I LOVE THIRD DAY! When people meet me, that is one of the first things they will probably learn about me. But what they won't learn is that of all the things in my life, when I feel like I am in my darkest place. The place where I feel like I just want to give up. I end up reaching for my iPod and I will end up hearing "My Hope Is You" or "Don't You Know I've Always Loved You" or "Born Again" or "Cry Out To Jesus"....you get the picture. Often it's in those timess that I feel the hurt and anger and the sadness, that these songs remind me more than ever that I have a Father who loves me for me! He DIED for me! And it's because I believe what I am hearing in these songs...it's because I beleve in what He says in His word..My hope is in Him, I do know He's always loved me, and I know that I can cry out to Him! And if He is truly everything I say I believe Him to be....maybe there is a new quiz to try. You might not have a favorite band or tv show or author...but you have a God who loves you more than you could ever imagine. So...how about we start a a new quiz...we call it..."My Life According To God" and let's fill the answers with all the truth and promises we get from His word!

Well...

Well...I have not posted in the last couple days...b/c i have been SUPER busy! Tomorrow, my little sister is turning 9 years old! i truly cannot believe that! I seems like it was just yesterday that we were sitting in a hospital waiting room...waiting (what else do you do there??) And is you had asked me then if I as excited and looking forward too what was coming, and if I wanted a little sibling...I would have given you a big HECK NO!!! I was the baby of the family and perfectly happy to keep it that way. Yet, as I look back now..9 years later, I can only wonder what my life would be like if I didn't have Sarah in my life. She has become one of the biggest parts of my life......and I know that God has used her in more way in my life to show/teach me lessons that He wanted to make sure I got! lol! I don't have some major revelation...some amazing biblical reference...but all I do have is that I know God can give us what we need even when we don't think we want it! And if we trust Him for everything we need....we will probably be shocked at how much we end up enjoying the blessings he gives!
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sarah! I LOVE YOU!

Why?

I am not doing so well this evening, my baby (dog) Jackson, is having to stay the night in the emergency vet hospital. Today was actually going pretty good, we were having a sorta lounge day....watching movies, Sarah had a friend over. And then Sarah walks into the living room and says " Jack is getting in the bag of chocolate". Now at first I admit, I didn't want to believe her, Jack just doesn't get into stuff like that. He usually just sleeps, eats, and plays the occasional game of fetch. But, to my horror-she was right. Jackson had ate 20 pre-wrapped hershey kisses baby shower favors. Which equals out to 80 hershey kisses, 20 10-inch netting wrap, and 20 pieces of string. So, we called the vet and they they told us to call someone else, who told us to bring him in. So off to Milford we went, and honestly, I had it in my headm they would examine him, give him some drugs and send us home to keep and eye on him. But, that's not exactly how it panned out. They got him to vomit up 16 of the 20, and now he is hooked up to a IV and they called to talk to my mom about his behavior, and on my end of the conversation, it didn't sound to be the greatest of reports. So here I am, ready to ball my eyes out, but I am trying my best to keep it together-for Sarah and for my mom. But all that keeps running through my head is that i don't know what I would do if something bad happened to him. From the day we brought him home (almost 3 years ago) he has been my constant side-kick. Whenever I get the least bit upset, he is the first to be there to lay his head in my lap and be by my side. He knows more of my thoughts than anyone else....I keep trying to stay positive, but thats not really my strong suit....but I guess what is helping my not completly lose it is the verse I posted before. God truly is here for me. To some it might seem like a small thing for the God of the universe to show concern and care for a simple house pet. But to me it shows of His amazing love and care for me! The bible says that God even watches the sparrow...one of the smallest of all creatures. So, how much more does He care about me! A human being He created in HIS OWN IMAGE! So, for tonight, that is my comfort verse. That I know that God is watching out for the 1.5 oz sparrow, He has is eye on my 85lb Golden Retriever. And He has His eye on me.

"And what is the price of 5 sparrows-2 copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them."

"The Lord is my strength and my song; He has given me victory. The strong right arm of the Lord is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the Lord had done glorius things! I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the Lord has done." Psalm 118:14, 16-17.

I will never cease to be amazed at what this verse mean to me, and how amazing it is that God can always give us just what we need right when we need it-even just a verse to comfort us. I have re-read Psalm 118 more times than I can count! And every time it gives me more comfort than the last. The last few years have been some of the toughest I hope to ever have to face, but even if God decides that I am to go through even more crap than what has happened so far, I will have Psalm 118 and the promise that God truly is my strength and my song, He WILL give me the victory! I WILL NOT DIE; BUT LIVE!!!!!! And I will use the time He has given me on this earth to tell everyone the amazing things God has done in my life.

Well, that's just what has been on my brain tonight.

Well....

I have decided that I need to start posting....if not for anyone else for me. I will hopefully post once a week, sometimes more, sometimes less, we shall see! But for now, let me just say, I am just a broken, messed up human, who has been made whole and clean by my Saviour!!
